Memory kits are for people with memory loss, cognitive impairment, or dementia and their caregivers. The kits include materials designed to give a caregiver an opportunity to engage in conversation about life experiences.
Below are kits that were created by staff at Oregon.
- Beach Day
The Beach Day Memory Kit contains a jar of sand and seashells, a beach towel in mesh bag, a pair of flip flops, a puzzle, 2 books, Blue Hawaii DVD, and ocean sounds CD.
- Cats
The Cats Memory Kit contains a puzzle, 2 books, a cat stuffed animal, and a cat collar.
- Cooking
The Cooking Memory Kit contains a Julia Child DVD, recipe box with cards, pot holders, kitchen towel, and kitchen spoons.
- Dogs
The Dog Memory Kit contains a puzzle, book, squeaky toy, rope toy, dog bone, food bowl, dog stuffed animal.
- Flower
The Flower Memory Kit contains a vase, bouquet of flowers, puzzle, and 3 books.
- Sewing
The Sewing Memory Kit contains a ball of yarn, rolls of fabric, plastic sewing needles, bag of buttons, lacing cards, with string, plastic mesh sheets, 2 books, and a puzzle.
- Tool
The Tool Memory Kit contains a book, puzzle, pair of work gloves, tool belt, screw drivers, tape measure, paint brushes, screw board, and assorted screws and tools.
