Volunteers assist the library in meeting its commitment to provide quality service. While providing this valuable assistance, volunteers connect the library to the community in a way that encourages citizens to become familiar with the library and its many resources.
Summer Youth Volunteers
The Youth Summer Library Program (SLP) volunteer program is separate from our general volunteer program. You need to complete the SLP Youth Volunteer application to be considered for the summer program.
To apply for the Youth SLP Volunteer Program:
- You must be age 12 by June 3 or your start date to volunteer at the Oregon Library without a guardian.
- Complete Summer Library Program Youth Volunteer Application.
- Return to it the Library, or email it to Kelly Allen at oreyouth [at] oregonlibrary.org (oreyouth[at]oregonlibrary[dot]org) by June 1st.
- We will send out emails to sign up for training sessions beginning May 20th.
- Applications may be accepted after June 1st if there is space.
General Library Volunteers
There are no openings for regular weekly volunteer positions, like picklist helper. We might be able to accommodate requests to fulfill hours for school or club service requirements. We keep all applications on file for one year.
For students ages 12-17,applications for Summer Library Program Youth Volunteer program will be available in May to help this summer.
To apply to become a volunteer:
- Applicants must be age 12 and up. Younger children need a guardian or responsible older sibling to volunteer.
- Complete the application.
- Return to it the Library, or email it to Kelly Allen at kallen [at] oregonlibrary.org (subject: Volunteering%20at%20Oregon%20Library) (kallen[at]oregonlibrary[dot]org).
- Please allow 7-10 days for a response.
